At the Olympic qualifying round at Sunday July 28, Simone Biles dominated. She performed an impressive vault routine and earned a score of 15.8. Her performance at the balance beam was excellent and let to a standing ovation from the audience. Her floor routine was stunning as wel. All in all, she is placed for all the finals except for the uneven bars final.

During the Women’s Team Final Biles led the gymnastics team to a gold medal. At the women’s All-Around Final Biles earned a gold medal as well. That made her the first American gymnast to ever win the All-Around Final twice. At the vault Biles performed a spectacular Yurchenko double pike which give her another gold medal, the seventh Olympic medal in her career and the third during the Paris Olympics.

August 5, Biles was out of luck. She lost her balance at the beam and was forced to reset. As a result, she failed to win a medal for the first time at the 2024 Olympics. During the floor finals later that day, Biles put together a stunning performance. Since she landed out of bounds, this wasn’t good enough for yet another gold medal. With 14.133 points she had to settle for the second place.
